Inner

Intro

INNER INNER is a psychological thriller that explores the fragile boundary between reality and perception. The film follows a character who becomes trapped within his own inner world, where memories, fears, and self-perceptions begin to intertwine. As his grip on reality slowly deteriorates, he is forced to confront parts of himself that he has long ignored. With INNER, I wanted to explore the complexities of identity and the way our sense of self is shaped by thoughts, memories, and personal experiences. The film asks a fundamental question: how well do we truly know ourselves, and what happens when the image we have created of who we are begins to unravel? Space plays a central role in the film. The environments are not merely physical locations but reflections of the protagonist’s psychological state. As his internal conflict intensifies, the distinction between the external world and his inner reality gradually dissolves. Visually, INNER combines realism with an unsettling atmosphere, using cinematography, sound, and editing to immerse the audience in the protagonist’s mind. While presented as a psychological thriller, the film is ultimately a meditation on identity, self-perception, and the confrontation with the self. Director’s Statement INNER emerged from my fascination with identity and the way people perceive themselves. While much of my previous work explores themes of cultural identity, belonging, and displacement, this film turns those questions inward. Rather than examining the relationship between an individual and society, INNER investigates the relationship between an individual and their own mind. Through this project, I wanted to create an intimate yet unsettling experience that invites viewers to reflect on their own inner worlds and the often fragile nature of self-understanding.
